Rabbi Yaakov Yosef Slonim (1881-1932) was the grandson of the Tzemach Tzedek of Lubavitch. He was the representative of the Admor HaRashab in Hevron and would buy houses for the Admor and the Chabad Chassidic movement. He worked to strengthen the Jewish community there, and served as the Chief Rabbi in Hevron and the head of the Torat Emet yeshiva there. In 1929 his son, daughter-in-law, and grandson were killed. Another son of his is Rabbi Levi Yitzhak of Freiburg-USA.
