Lot 233:
Letter handwritten and signed by the Gaon Rabbi Avraham Rosenberger (rabbi of the Moshav Gimzu), from his residency in the city of his birth (Dieresh, Hungary). From 1929, addressed to Rabbi Haim Baruch Panet, grandson of Admorei Desh. He opens with praise for the addressee and blesses him with congratulations (probably for his engagements), and he then writes a poem using an acrostic of the full name of the addressee. Signature of the author. 21x18cm. Stains mainly in the margins, generally good condition.
Writer: Rabbi Avraham Baruch Rosenberger, rabbi fo Gimzu, son of Rabbi Yekutiel Yehuda Av Beit Din of Dieresh (the Shut Torat Yekutiel). Son-in-law of Rabbi Natan David HaKohen Hollander, Av Beit Din of Amsana. His grave on Mt. of Olives states: “Served with the crown as rabbi for 45 years in some holy communities outside Israel and then in Israel in Gimzu, whereever he was he stood for holiness in strength and he learned and taught the Jewish people da’at and yirat hashem, authored Shut Birkat Avraham an died in Shvat 1881.”
Addressee: Rabbi Haim Baruch Panet (born 1909), son of Rabbi Yaakov Elimelech. Grew up learning from his grandfather, the Admor Rabbi Yehezkel Panet in Desh. In 1929 he married the daughter of Rabbi Haim Halberstam of Satmar, served in the rabbinate of Desh from 1932. Murdered in the Shoah.
