Three volumes of issues from 1916 to 1920. HaIvri was a popular Zionist journal published in New York, published by Rabbi Meir Bar-Ilan (Berlin—for more, see below). Some of the issues are detached. Overall good condition. Note of ownership on one volume: “From the Library of Shmaryahu HaKohen Margalit”. The ex libris of another: “Library of Rabbi Baruch ben Rabbi Yisrael Aryeh Triger.”
Rabbi Meir Bar-Ilan (Berlin; 1880-1949) was the youngest son of the Natziv of Volozhin. He was an author and Zionist activist, a leader of the Mizrahi and religious Zionist movements. He founded the newspaper HaTzofeh, the Talmudic Encyclopedia (was its first editor), and founded Yeshiva University in the US.
