By Rabbi Refael Avraham Shalom Mizrahi Didya Sharabi, known as the Rosh, grandson of the Rashash. Exegesis on the Etz Hayyim and Shmonah She’arim of the Maharhav. Among the first books printed in Jerusalem, first edition by Yisrael Bak in 1843. With a long endorsement signed by rabbis and kabbalists of Jerusalem from the period, 26 in total. [6], 154 pages. New binding, light stains, repairs to the cover at the edge, missing a little text on the other side, generally good condition. Important signatures and notes. On the title page, a long dedication in a fine Spanish handwriting, was written for Rabbi Chaim Nissim Abulafia, though the identity of the writer was not deciphered. Throughout the book many glosses are handwritten, at the beginning of the book glosses in the handwriting of the great Kabbalist Rabbi Yehuda Patya, and later there are two fine Sephardic writings, one of them probably the author of Rabbi Avraham Gagin, and the other probably the handwriting of Rabbi Chaim Nissim Abulafaya, as stated in the dedication. Ownership stamp: "Nathah Preise". And the caption "Moga". Rabbi Yehuda Moshe Patya (1859-1942) was born in Baghdad, in 1934 he moved to Israel, and settled in Jerusalem. During the Shoah he would do a tikkun chatzot at Rachel’s Tomb. He was named by Professor Yehuda Leibs as the most important kabbalist of the 20th century. Rabbi Chaim Nissim Abulafia (1795-1861) was Rabbi of Tiberias and the Rishon LeZion in Jerusalem. His sons include Rabbi Chaim Abulafia. For a while he also served as rabbi in Damascus, but most of the time he served as rabbi of Tiberias. Was the protege of the submitter to the printshop Rabbi Avraham Gagin. The Kabbalist Rabbi Chaim Avraham Gagin known as the sage Mircado Gagin, (1865-1969), in Eretz Yisrael, one of his well-known actions was to save the Samaritans from death.
