Lot 134:
The order of prayer with the commentary of Rabbi Yaakov Emden, part one, Paltin Beit El, Amudei Shamayim. Part two, Armon Ir Ha’Elokim Shaarei Shamayim – Lemberg, 1863. [228], [88] leaves. A separate title page for the second part. The first three leaves with the two title pages for the first part were completed by professional photocopying. Worming holes, stains and use marks. Good overall condition. Rebound with a mistake in the embossing, upon which Koritz appears instead of Lemberg as the place the prayer book was printed. Ownership inscription with one word on each page from page 2 onward: “[Yitzchak] Isaac son of my father and teacher, Rabbi David Halevi of Wasilkow, ritual slaughterer of the Sde Lavan community” – an interesting discovery about the previously unknown son of Rabbi David Halevi Kimmelfeld (the son of Rabbi Yitzchak Isaac of Havastov) av beit din of Wasilkow during the period that Rabbi David of Tolna lived there. Ownership stamps: ‘Mendel Meizlish, dayan of the community of Zlotshov” – the brother-in-law of the Maharsham of Brezhan, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Dov Meizlish (1845-1899), son of Rabbi Moshe Nachman of Stryj and son-in-law of Rabbi Moshe Schwadron (the father of the Maharsham), served as rabbi in Sde Lavan and as av beit din of Zlotshov [see: Meorei Galicia part three], one of the foremost chassidim of Ruzhin-Sadigora. He had an exceptionally close relationship with the Rebbe Rabbi Yisrael of Ruzhin.
