The book Nefesh Yosef, homilies on the Torah according to the kabbalah, by Rabbi Yosef son of Rabbi Shlomo Mardoch, first edition, in the printing press of Sa’adya Halevi Ashkenazi, Saloniki, 1856. At the end is the work Moadei Haregel by the author, [4], 280 leaves. Originally 6 leaves, 2 leaves are missing. The title page and the last leaf are slightly restored, rebound, good overall condition. Rabbi Yosef Mardoch son of Rabbi Shlomo, one of the sages of Saloniki. Immigrated to Jerusalem. Together with Rabbi Moshe Kastro he published the fifth sha’ar of Sefer Ha’Sha’arim – 1852, wrote additions of his and of his father’s to sha’arim two and three. He published the book Olat Tamid by Rabbi Yaakov Tzemach. At the end of this book he also printed the work of his father Rabbi Shlomo, ‘Mareh Ha’ofanim.’ Died in 1868.
