Megillat Esther, written by hand on parchment, height: 6 cm. Sephardi scribal handwriting, 15 lines. In a silver container of impressive and extraordinary handwork that is made of 8 parts, with a handle for rolling the megillah up in the container (the handle may be from a later period). Hammering, cutting and scalpel work of vegetation and flowers. Partially gold-plated. Total weight: 165 grams. Total length: 18 cm. The container is in very good overall condition. The megillah is faded in several places, and has ink smudges in several others. Tears and pastings. Not sold as kosher.
