Lot 104:
Megillat Esther, written by hand on parchment, height: 8 cm. Sephardi Scribal handwriting, 15 lines. At the beginning and end of the megillah are colored drawings by an artist of Mordechai and Esther and an additional drawing of Bigtan and Teresh. In a silver container, impressive and unparalleled handwork. The container is made of five parts, with a handle to roll the megillah up in the container (the handle is period appropriate, it seems that welding was added to it at a later date), hammering and scalpel work of various decorations (the parts were welded at a later date). Total weight: 148 grams. Total length: 20 cm. Slight blemishes to the drawings. The overall condition of the container is moderate, with various blemishes and signs of use. The megillah is faded in several places, and has ink smudges in others. Tears and pastings. Not sold as kosher.
