A magnificent silver menorah, to be lit with oil. On the back is engraving, relief, hammering, welting and cutting work with figures of lions, in the center is a large crown, in the center are the Tablets of the Covenant surrounded by various, impressive decorations and vegetation. The base of the menorah stands on 4 legs. The candle holders can be removed for cleaning. Rare in its completeness and beauty, when all the parts are original and complete and easily built, including the covers of the candle holders. Hallmarked with stamps of the location and the year it was made: Vienna, beginning of 1872, and the stamp of the artist “S-H” – Samuel Haber, who worked until 1912. The width of the base is 22 cm. Height: 22 cm. Weight: 495 grams. Very good overall condition. This silver menorah was used by Rabbi Avraham Brandwein, the rebbe of Stretin-Haifa, which he received as a family heirloom. Attached is confirmation. Rabbi Avraham Brandwein, the Rebbe of Stretin-Haifa, a descendent of the Rebbe Zvi Yehuda of Stretin. Died in 1973. He was the son-in-law of Rabbi Yaakov Shlomo of Gura Humor. Served as rebbe in Piatra Neamt and in Haifa.
