1. The book Shem Shlomo, novaelle on Talmudic topics by Rabbi Shlomo Ganzfried author of the Kitzur Shulchan Aruch with the biography of the author and an introduction by Rabbi Mordechai Banet. First edition in the printing press of Yaakov Weider – Seini Varhal, 1908. With interesting ownership inscriptions in Hebrew and in Latin letters. [5], 120 leaves. Last leaf was restored, original bindings faded at the edges, good overall condition. 2. The book Lechem V’Simla, laws of Nidda, ritual immersion and mikvaot. With approbations from the Divrei Chaim of Sanz and the Maharam Esh of Ungvar. Second edition, Beclean, 1908. Ownership stamp of the chassidic kabbalist Rabbi Mordechai Moshe Karfman of Jerusalem. [2], 124, leaves. [1]. A few worming holes, slight stains, old binding, part of the spine is missing, good overall condition. Rabbi Shlomo Ganzfried (1804 -1886) son of Rabbi Yosef who was a dayan in Ungvar. A disciple of Rabbi Zvi Hirsch Heller, author of the well-known book “Tiv Gittin”. His first book, “Kesset Hasofer” on the laws of scribal writing was published in Oppen in 1834. The book received an approbation from the Chatam Sofer who wrote that “students will not be accepted as scribes until they are fluent in this book,” and even added his own glosses. Served as av beit din of Ungvar from 1850 until his death. He wrote dozens of important works, but he is best known for his famous book “Kitzur Shulchan Aruch” that has been printed in many editions since it was first published in Ungvar in 1864.
