A long letter written entirely in the handwriting and with the signature of the rosh yeshiva of Torah V’Daat and a member of the Moetzet Gedolei Hatorah in America, Rabbi Yaakov Kamenetsky. The letter was written in Toronto [where he had served as rabbi several years earlier] in 1965. He expresses his opinion about writing a book about the times during the day and night for halachic purposes. His great humility is clear from the letter, in which he writes “And his honor does not need me…” and explains that he is reluctant to reach a firm decision about these issues “until I said that it is difficult to enter into matters that the great leaders of previous generations found complex…” The letter is written on lined paper, entirely in his handwriting and with his signature. 15.5*23 cm. Folding marks. Very good overall condition.
