Concordantiae on the Tanach by Yosef ben Yaakov Alsari, known as “Julius Pirset.” Cover in Hebrew and another in Latin. First text of its type, on the connection between the Hebrew language and the languages of the ancient peoples, written by a Jewish researcher. The author is Josef ben Yaakov Alsari, born in 1805 in Poland. Served as Professor in the University of Leipzig for Hebrew and other Semitic languages. He was known throughout the world by his research name “Julius Pirset.” This book was the first of its kind, apparently only a few copies of this huge print was publishedand this is the only edition that appears in its entirety (printed again in the twentieth-century without all the additions here). XII, 1428 pages, 35cm. Hebrew cover and Latin cover. Quality paper. Original leather binding, falling apart a little. Generally very good condition.
