TiferetYisrael, pure sayings by the Admor Rabbi Yisrael of Chortkov, written in his father’s life and printed in his life, were brought to the printing press by his son Rabbi Yisrael Rappaport – first edition Husiatyn1904. General good condition Rabbi Yisrael Friedman of Chortkov, (1854-1934), son of the first Rebbe of Tchortkov Rabbi David Moshe, son of Rabbi Yisrael of Ruzhin, son-in-law His uncle the Rebbe Rabbi Avraham Ya’akov of Sadigura. During the First World War he moved to Vienna. One of the greatest of the Rebbes of the Ruzhin family and one of the greatest of the Admorim of his generation. He was one of the founders of Agudath Israel and one of the heads of MoetzetGedoleiHaTorah. Among the most prominent among his disciples was Rabbi Meir Shapira of Lublin, head of YeshivatChachmei Lublin, and the author of Daf Yomi [who said that the idea of the Daf Yomi initiative was that of his teacher from Czortkow and he entrusted it to his great student because of his rhetorical talent]. He was known for his noble and royal leadership as the version of the Ruzhindynasty.
