Book by Gedalyahu ben Yehiya Ram, with droshim and chiddushim. 52 pages. Moth damage and tears, generally ok condition. Cover has the stamp of Rabbi Aryeh Leib Herschler (Rabbi Leib Dayan) and his family, signatures of “Yosef Herschler”, and a note of his yichus to Rabbi Leib Dayan, and on his mother’s side to Rabbi Yosef Rivlin. Rabbi Aryeh Leib Herschler (1850-1917) was a known dayan in the Old Yishuv of Jerusalem at the beginning of the 20th century. Served for 25 years as a dayan in the court of Rabbi Shmuel Salant. Led a group of founders of the Beit Yisrael neighborhood in Jerusalem (there is a street there named after him) and served as rabbi and head of the residential association, and then was a founder of Sha’arei Pina and Givat Sha’ul. Was a member of the State Court, and a representative of the Ashkenazi Jewish community at the Municipality in Jerusalem under the Ottomans.
