Commentary on the Torah by the Sage Don Isaac Abarbanel. Separate cover for each section of the Chumash, some of the covers are defective. First cover has the handwritten signature of Avraham David HaKohen, Av Beit Din of Lutomiersk. New, simple binding, tears in a number of places, generally good condition. Rabbi Avraham David HaKohen was the Av Beit Din of Lutomiersk (Lodz region), son of Rabbi Asher Yosef HaKohen, Av Beit Din of Sperov. He was known as the Rosh Yosef, after his book on halachot Treifut. A great follower of Rabbi Menachem Mendel of Kotzk, the Chiddushei HaRim of Gur, and Rabbi Henich of Alexander. He was one of those who crowned the Avnei Nezer for the rabbinate in Sochotchov (see Sage of Poland, page 317, Beit Kotzk p. 105, and Abir HaRoim Section 1, p. 105-8).
