Lot 177:
On the Shulchan Aruch Yoreh De’ah by Rabbi Nissan ben Rabbi Aharon of Dovna. 1, 108 pages. Small tear on the cover, slight stains, generally very good condition. Front binding disconnected and worn. Blank front page has the signature of ownership of Rabbi Yitzhak Haim Rapaport (approx. 1852-1921), av Beit Din of Ostrova and then Krakow, son of Rabbi Shabtai of Dombrova and son-in-law of Rabbi Zeev Nachun Burnstein of Biela (the Agudat Ezov, father of the Avnei Nezer). Rabbi Yitzhak Haim was a very strong student of Torah, and he was known for having such a nice attitude that it was said he would take his jacket off in the street and offer it to a poor person who came up to him. His brother-in-law, the Avnei Nezer, was very close with him and spoke kindly of him. Dozens of his responsa can be found amongst the Avnei Nezer and the Kochav M’Yaakov (his father’s son-in-law).
