Rabbi Yisrael Matityahu of Godzitz (1839-1900) was the son of Rabbi Nachman Zeev Auerbach (son of Rabbi David Zvi Auerbach, father-in-law of Rabbi Natan of Breslev, the Ba’al Shem Tov was his sandak), and son-in-law of Rabbi Moshe Zvi Hirsch Horwitz, sages of Galicia. Served as rabbi in Ostzia, Tzishinov, Bosk, Godzitz, a great follower of Rabbi David Moshe of Chortkov, the Imrei Bina, Alfei Yisrael, and more.
