Rav Eliyahu Lupis (1890-1938) was a Ram in the Porat Yosef yeshiva, dayan at the Beit Din for Sefardim in Jerusalem, and a founder of the Bayit VeGan neighborhood of Jerusalem. Among his students were appointed famous rabbis, including Rav Ovadia Yosef. | Rav Yosef Shaul Alisher (1867-1948) was a public figure and Jerusalem businessman, president of the Va’ad Eida Sfardit in Jerusalem, founder of the Zikaron Moshe neighborhood, and member of the first Assembly of Representatives. | Rav Ovadia Hadaya (1889-1969) was a dayan and kabbalist. Served as head of the kabbalistic yeshiva Beit el, member of the Council of Torah Sages, and member of the High Rabbinical Court. Was Chief Sefardi rabbi of Petah Tikva, and won the Israel Prize for Torah Literature in 1968.
