Gaon Rabbi Eliezer Zussman Sofer (1828-1902) was a tzaddik, rabbi of Hungary, and proliferous author. Student of the Chatam Sofer, he was born to Rabbi Mordechai Ephraim Fishel Sofer, and the Chatam Sofer did his bris before becoming his teacher. Most of his studies were under the Katav Sofer and the Maharam Shik. Son-in-law of Rabbi Yoel Unger, Av Beit Din of Paksh, the Shot Riba. He was rabbi in Halash (1857), and head of the yeshiva there for 30 years. He left following a disagreement and served as Av Beit Din in Paksh in place of his father-in-law. Author of Yalkut Eliezer (3 sections), later became known by the book’s name. Rabbi Yehezkel Bennett was the grandson and student of Rabbi Shlomo Ganzfried (the Kitzur Shulchan Aruch), and son-in-law of Rabbi Avraham Yitzhak Glick, Av Beit Din of Toltchova. | 148 [8] pages, 30cm.
