1. The letter was written on Thursday Devarim Menachem Av 5721 [1961], on the Rebbe’s official letter paper, by the Gabbai Rabbi Yeshaya Yoel Unger [brother of Rabbi Ungar who was the Av Beit Din of the Chug Chatam Sofer], “who writes at the Rebbe’s command”. 2. An excerpt [the end of the letter and the signature] of a letter which also seems to have been written on the same type of letter paper. In the excerpt before us are blessings: “Much pleasure – healing and salvations and all good”. And the signature: “Who writes at the command of the Rebbe, Yeshaya Yoel Unger”. The Rebbe Rabbi Yaakov Yosef Twersky of Skver [1898-1968] Appointed as Rebbe following the death of his father the Rebbe Rabbi David of Skver in 1927 in the city of Calarasi, Romania. After the Second World War, he moved to the city of Bukarest and in 1948 emigrated to America. In 1957, he founded the New Square neighborhood in New York, to provide his followers with a suitable place to live. Overall condition: Fair-good.
