A postal telegram dated September 17, 1990 sent from the post office in Jerusalem, by the Rebbe Rabbi Pinchas Menachem Alter author of the Pnei Menachem of Gur. To the mayor of Bnei Brak Moshe Ornsteinon the occasion of a family celebration. The Rebbe blesses: "Much pleasure from all his dear children up to 120 years and may you have a ketivahv’chatimahtovah". The telegram was sent while he served as the Rosh Yeshiva of the ‘SfatEmet’ yeshiva, two years before being appointed as the Rebbe of Gur. | The Rebbe Rabbi Pinchas Menachem Alter [1926-1996], the seventh Rebbe of Gur and president of the MoetzetGedoleiHaTorah of Agudat Yisrael. The youngest son of the Rebbe of Gur Rabbi Avraham Mordechai Alter author of the ImreiEmet, who was 60 when he was born. He was a genius, sharp, a talented speaker and maintained a modest lifestyle, He was revered by his followers and considered to have RuachHaKodesh. | Fold marks.
