A letter on official letter paper, in the handwriting and with the signature of the rabbi of Safed Rabbi Avraham LeibZilberman. The letter is dated 1923 and addressed to the Religious Committee for the Land of Israel. In the letter is an interesting story about an honorable and rich rabbi (who is mentioned by name) who wants to benefit from the chuluka funds and spreads slander about the management of the yeshiva when they refuse to fulfill his whims. | Rabbi Avraham Yehuda LeibZilberman [1889-1947], the chief rabbi of Safed for thirty years, and a grandson of Rabbi Rafael Zilberman, who served as the chief rabbi of the Ashkenazi congregation of Safed. Rabbi Zilberman continued the tradition of the rabbinical dynasty of the Zilberman family and served as the emissary of the Rebbes of Boyan to light the Lag B’Omer bonfire at Meron. | 20×17 cm.
