1. A letter printed by stencil on official letterhead of the Chief Rabbinate of Egypt and signed with the stamp of the rabbinate. 6 handwritten lines were added at the end. The letter was addressed to Rabbi Yitzchak Toretz, head of the Ashkenazi community in Egypt. In the letter: instructions of the rabbinate to recite a prayer for King Farouk, and the wording of the prayer. | 2. A letter with historical value, in the handwriting and with the signature and on the official letterhead of Rabbi Chaim Nachum Effendi, Chief Rabbi of Egypt (and of the Ottoman Empire). Dated 24 th Adar 1942. To the chief rabbi of Israel Rabbi Yitzchak Isaac Herzog. In his letter he informs Rabbi Herzog about his meeting with Mr. John Hope Simpson (a member of the British Liberal1. party, author of the Hope-Simpson Report about the 1929 massacres) regarding sending food and medicine to Polish Jews during the Holocaust. | Sizes and conditions vary.
