Lot 351:
Two written pages in fancy, ordered Mizrahi handwriting, actually written by the holy hand of the ‘Holiest of Holies’ Rabbi Hayim Vital, the greatest student of the Arizal. Autograph from the book ‘Sefer HaPeulot.’ One of the greatest Kabbalists after the Ari (his teacher). | Each page is composed of two columns, each of which has 40 lines (total, around 160 lines of text). Of which, there are 14 segulot and remedies according to practical kabbalah. For headaches/migraines, toothaches, stings, and other more serious things. The Imrei Emet of Gur, whose library was one of the largest and most important in the Jewish world, possessed a manuscript of Rabbi Hayim Vital, and this is how he excitedly describes it: “The Great Rav Hayim Vital wrote this actually by hand in wonderful Sefardi handwriting 338 years ago.” | Before us is an incredibly important manuscript. It it so clearly written, and even moreso, merely possessing a page from the Sefer HaRefuot of the Maharhav written by him by hand constitutes a segula for one’s health and safety. Rabbi Hayim Vital (1542-1620), student of the Ari, the utmost authority on the philosophy of the Ari. It is famously said that the Ari said that everything that he brought to the world was done to be given to the Maharhav, so that it could be written by him, and in fact many sages would only trust what was written by the Maharhav, and not by other students of the Ari. HaHida says that his soul was greater than any of his generation (which is known as the generation of the worldly sages). Sheets of paper written on both sides, [2] pages, 19x15cm per page. Generally very good condition.
