Includes also Badak HaBayit by Rabbeinu Aharon HaLevi and Mishmeret HaBayit by the Rashba, on Shulchan Aruch Yoreh De’ah. A foundational work in psak halacha. Book is worn from use, and it is obvious that it was always on the table of one of the great Torah sages, who signed his name dozens of times! Also added handwritten glosses. Rabbi Shmuel Hiller (1803-1884) was a gaon, tzaddik, and kabbalist. Served as rabbi of Tzfat for more than 40 years, starting in 1841, and he was one of the greatest Chassidic leaders in Israel. Met the Hozeh of Lublin, and would tell stories of the miracles he saw him carry out. He was an expert on medicinal drugs, and would use his knowledge to improve relations with the Arab neighbors.
