Festive edition, one-time only, a joint production of all the country’s newspaper companies. Friday, 5th of Iyar (May 14) 1948. All of the newspaper companies joined together and printed a joint newspaper edition to mark the historic event—after 2000 years, the establishment of the State of Israel. The main headline: “The nation declares the State of Israel.” Picture of Herzl and members of the provisional government. It sold for 10 Israeli cents, and on Friday afternoon as an evening paper. Professional restoration with no damage to text, stains. 58x43cm. Generally good condition.
