Lot 217:
Illustrated ketubah, ink on parchment. Written for the groom Yedidyah Yeshaya ben Yitzhak Galicci, and the bride Estehr bat Mordechai Nissim. Sofer handwriting, beautiful, surrounded by a colorful frame. Above and below are wonderful illustrations of a king and queen and their servants, and the walls of Jerusalem and David’s Citadel are in the background. There is another frame surrounding these drawings in a variety of colors. Around that is a micrograph of verses from the Song of Songs. It is possible that some of the drawings were done during a later period. Some stains and tears in the margins, without damage to text. Size 77x48cm, generally good condition.
