Lot 086:
Colorful porcelain pitcher decorated with an embossing of a house, around it are characters from the book Oliver Twist. Among them is Fagin, one of the most famous characters in the book, who was a Jew and the leader of a gang of pickpockets. He is described very crudely as a vicious villain, and is mentioned many times not by his name but rather with the nickname “the Jew.” The pitcher is stamped at the bottom. Size: 14.5x10x9cm. Good condition.
