Auction 18
Lot 083:
1. 5 krona, Theresienstadt Ghetto. 2. 10 krona, Theresienstadt Ghetto. 3. 20 krona, Theresienstadt Ghetto. Theresienstadt, in the Czech Republic, was a concentration camp for Jews from the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia, and for Jews from central and western Europe during the Nazi occupation and throughout World War II. It was called by the Nazi authorities a “Ghetto”, given their attempts to depict it as a model site for world publicity. Around 90% of those interned at Theresienstadt were murdered by the Nazis. Of 160,000 Jews who were sent there, only 19,000 people remained at the end of the war. Generally very good condition to the bills.
