1. Picture of the rabbis of Fez, glued on illustrated cardboard with inscriptions explaining the figures in the picture. Handwriting of Rav Yosef of Sas. 2. Piyyut letter from 1965, with the acrostic Meir Benayahu. Handwritten and signed by Rav Yosef of Sas. Chacham Yosef of Sas (1892-1974) was Chief Rabbi of Tlemcen in Algeria, and then Chief Sefardi Rabbi of Haifa. Apart from being a Torah sage he was an illustrator and poet, as we can see in the items before us. The covers of his books are decorated with his illustrations. Among his compositions are many poems written using rhymes and in flowery, pretty language. He would champion the oppressed in society. Composed 48 books of halacha and Aggadah. | Different sizes and conditions, generally very good.
