Rabbi ben Tzion Meir Hai Uziel (1880-1953) was the first Sefardi Chief Rabbi of the State of Israel. One of the most prominent rabbis of the first half of the 20th century. | Rav Yitzhak Isaac HaLevi Herzog (1888-1959) was the first Ashkenazi chief rabbi, and before that of Ireland.
