Autograph manuscript of the Gaon Rav Shlomo Ganzfried, who compiled the Kitzur Shulcan Aruch. The content of the letter is a response to objections to his book Kesat HaSofer, with lists of droshim and chiddushim for the Pesach Haggadah, chiddushim of halacha on issues of Chametz and Matzah. The Gaon Rabbi Shlomo Ganzfried was born in 1804 to Rabbi Yosef, who was a dayan and motz in Ungvar. Student of Rav Zvi Hirsch Heller, author of Tiv Gittin. His first book, Kesat HaSofer on halachot of ketivat stam, was published in Apen in 1834, and got an endorsement from the Chatam Sofer, who wrote that he would not give sofer status to his students until they were well-versed in this book.” Rav Ganzfried served as Ra’avad of Ungvar from 1850 until his death in 1886. Composed dozens of important works, but is mainly famous for his famous book Kitzur Shulchan Aruch, which has had many editions since it was first published in Ungvar in 1864. 3 pages, around 6 columns. Size around 22cm. Ok to good condition. One of the pages has text missing in the margins.
