Responsa Shemesh Tzedaka, two parts (with separate title pages) by Rabbi Shimshon Morpurgo. Venice, 1743. Rabbi Shimshon Morpurgo (1681-1740), one of the foremost Italian Rabbis, Rabbi of Ancona. When an epidemic broke out in Italy in 1730, Rabbi Shimshon Morpurgo served as a doctor to save lives. The book was brought to print by his son Rabbi Chaim Shabtai Morpurgo and was given a place of honor in the field of halachic literature. Part one on Orach Chaim, Yoreh Deah [5], 117 leaves. Part two on Even HaEzer, Choshen Mishpat [1] 61 leaves. 35 cm. Magnificent title pages. Missing one leaf at the beginning (before the pagination) and the last leaf. The first title page and the subsequent leaf, as well as the last two leaves are restored at the edges. New binding. Good overall condition.
