A machzor for Shavuot with a Yiddish commentary and other compilations. Lemberg, 1907. With many stamps, and an ownership inscription in the handwriting of the Rebbe of Zemigrad. Rabbi Aryeh Leibush Halberstam [1912-2007], the Rebbe of Sanz-Zemigrad. Born in the city of Zemigrad, to Rabbi Sinai Halberstam, son of Rabbi Baruch Halberstam of Gorlitz and grandson of the Divrei Chaim of Sanz. He was a disciple of the Tschebiner Gaon Rabbi Dov Berish Weidendfeld, Rabbi Meir Shapira of Lublin and Rabbi Shimon of Zlichov. Immigrated to Israel after the War and settled in Petach Tikva where he established the ‘Divrei Chaim’ Beit Midrash, and later moved to Rabbi Akiva Street in Bnei Brak. He wrote the 7-volume series of books ‘Aryeh Sha’ag’. In his later years, at an extremely old age, he became known as a miracle worker, and many people flocked to him from Israel and throughout the world. 160 leaves. 23 cm. Original reinforced binding.
