Sefer Iggrot Sofrim. Contains hundreds of letters of the Eiger and Sofer families, from Rabbi Akiva Eiger, the Chatam Sofer and onward. By Rabbi Shlomo Sofer Av Beit Din of Beregsaz and the environs. New York, 1946. | With a dedication from the Rebbe Rabbi Yaakov Halberstam of Tshakava to Rabbi David Gafner. | Rabbi Yaakov Halberstam [1897-1968], son of the Rebbe Rabbi Sinai Halberstam of Zhimogrod, son of Rabbi Baruch Halberstam of Gorlitz, son of the ‘Divrei Chaim’ of Sanz. Married the daughter of Rabbi Shalom Moskowitz of Shotz-London and served as Rabbi of Tshakava in Galicia. In 1935, he immigrated to Israel and settled in Jerusalem. All his sons and sons-in-law served as Rebbes and Rabbis. Among them are the famous posek Rabbi Moshe Halberstam, and Rabbi Naftali Halberstam the Rebbe of Tshakava and the chairman of the Kashrut committee of the Eida Chareidit. | Black cloth binding, partially detached, wear on the spine.
