Lot 176:
A polemic by Rabbi Chaim Bloch [1881-1973]. A researcher of Chassidut and Kabbalah and an author. Served as a military Rabbi in the Austro-Hungarian army and emigrated to America after the Nazi invasion. The book is a response to a halachic ruling issued against Rabbi Bloch by the Beit Din of the Rabbinic Union of America and Canada, and he claims that “The judgement is inherently faulty and the Dayanim of the Rabbinic Union did not issue a correct ruling” On the title page is a dedication in the author’s handwriting and with his signature to “My long-term friend, Dr. Yaakov Horowitz [most likely the author from Vienna-Tel Aviv, and editor of the literary supplement of the ‘HaAretz’ newspaper]… Chaim Bloch, one of the exiles of Vienna”. 112 pages. 15 cm. Without a binding. Overall condition: Good-very good.
