A breastplate for the case of the Torah scroll which contains a silver breastplate and silver hinges (including metal clasps). Dedication on the breastplate “This case and this Torah scroll and the Rimonim [finials]… are for the tranquility of the soul of the merciful woman Simcha the daughter of Noam, and she rested on Wednesday 28th of the month of Tishrei 5629 – 1969. Appears to have been made in Israel. Crude welding on one of the hinges. Breastplate dimensions: 11.5/14.7 cm. Weight of the breastplate and the hinges together: 263 grams. Good overall condition.
