Interesting letter, around 12 lines handwritten and signed. Sent from Vilna, 1936 to the Chief Rabbi Dr. Yitzhak Herzog. Letter requests that he check on someone living in London who, according to the newspapers, will live there some time; he wants to get a meeting with him, to make sure things are ok with the Jews of Ireland. Rav Grodzinsky (1863-1940) was Av Beit Din of Vilna, author of Achiezer, studied in the Volozhin yeshiva together with Rav Haim of Brisk, from 1885 he was rabbi in Vilna, worked strongly to strengthen the religion and the yeshiva world, founded the Va’ad Yeshivot with Rabbi Yisrael Meir HaKohen, the Chafetz Haim, and was a posek of his generation.
