Silver mezuzah housing designed by Alexander L. Wolfe, in the shape of an ancient pitcher, with an embedded pruta coin made of bronze from the Second Revolt, 67-68 C.E. Stamped and numbered 9/613. Dated 1986. Includes the mezuzah inside. Height: 10cm. Total weight: 123g (mezuzah scroll’s kashrut not checked). Accompanied by a signed permission form from the artist. The cup is designed by the same artist with casting and enamel work. Stamped and numbered 33/613, dated 1983 at the bottom. Height: 15cm. Weight: 251g. Good condition. Alexander Wolfe, originally from Scotland, moved to Israel in 1972. He was a well-known designer of seals, amulets, and coins. He became famous for writing a number of scientific articles, and he lectured on those topics. In addition to loaning items to museums across the world for special editions, he displayed exhibits at the Jewish Cultural Center in London on Judaism in the Middle Ages.
