Lot 298:
Copy of the halachot of shechita by the Mahareetz, handwritten by Rabbi Shmuel, the son of the Rav Haim ben HaRav Yosef Korach (Encyclopedia for the Sages of Yemen, page 558). As is known Rabbi Shmuel doesn’t appear in the encyclopedia, but in the book “Anaf Etz Avot,” by Rav Pinchas Korach, on page 904, he mentions Rabbi Shalom Korach, who was the uncle of Rav Shmuel, because the second son of Mori Haim Korach was Rav Shmuel and he writes of him “he had straight thinking and clear and settled thoughts.” Only one copy of the book “Shirot Dyo’an” are known from Rav Shmuel’s handwriting, and the additional copy of Sha’arei Kedusha is in professional, handsome writing. Decorations of symbols in red ink. Some of the pages have glosses in the margins from a later period. 16.5×12.5cm, 124 pages. Bound with new binding, excellent condition. Rare. The item was brought to auction from a private collection.
