Important Judaica. Shofar for Rosh Hashanah with engraving. It was used in the synagogue in Germany, decorated with engraving work, written in Gothic lettering: “You will blow in the month of the shofar for the day of our holiday” (Psalms 81:4). The Gothic lettering used on the shofar was in use in Western Europe from the middle of the 12th century until the middle of the 20th. The name “Gothic” is given to the font in Italy from the Renaissance period, extremely rare. Length: 44cm. Light defects. Generally good condition. The item was brought to sale from a private collection.
