Letter from the Admor Rabbi Nachum Mordechai Friedman of Chortkov to Rabbi Avigdor Amiel, the Chief Rabbi of Tel Aviv dated 1939 on the subject of assisting the Jews who as a result of the rise of the Nazis were obliged to flee, abandon their business and settle in the Holy land. The Admor Rabbi Nachum Mordechai was born in 1874, son of Rabbi Israel of Chortkov, and grandson of Rabbi David Moshe of Chertkov, great grandson of the Rabbi of Rozin. He left Vienna in 1936 for Israel and passed away in 1946
