Lot 421:
To Rav Michael Tekochinsky on the matter of receiving his book and blessing. Rav Moshe Kliers (1876-1934) was the Chief Ashkenazi Rabbi of Tiberias, married to the daughter of Rabbi Yehuda Leib Castelnitz, an important member of the Slonim chassidut in Tiberias, because of which he moved to that city and changed to be a Slonim chassid. Because of the invitation of the Admor, Rav Shmuel Weinberg of Slonim, who asked that he teach his son, he travelled for a few years to study in Slonim. In 1900 he established the Or Torah yeshiva for Rabbi Meir ba’al HaNess and headed it until his death. He would go to the yeshiva on Sunday and stay there until Thusrday. One of his sons was murdered during the riots of 1929, Haim Elisha. At the end of his life he became ill and on the order of his doctors he moved to Kiryat Shmuel. In 1933 he got sick and sent a letter to Rav Asher Ze’ev Werner who lived in the United states, and he requested him to come to Tiberias and take over as rabbi of the city. He died 23rd of Shvat, 1934. One page. 8 lines handwritten and signed. Generally excellent condition.
