2 handles (etz hayyim), the lower handles, and 1 upper portion, made from bone, from the Karaite community, seems from Turkey. An extremely rare artifact from this period! First time in an auction: The karaites are known by other names “Bnei HaMikra,” “Ba’alei HaMikra,” before us are etzei hayyim from a Karaite Sefer Torah. On one handle is an engraved inscription “to the holy community of the Bnei Mikra, dedicated today the 13 of the month of Av, 1636. Length: 14.5cm. One is a little defective at the bottom, the upper handle is defective, a few cracks showing the age of the item, generally good condition.
