Signature of the Rebbetzin Nehama Dina Schneerson, with signatures of her sons-in-law the Admor Rebbe Rav Menahem Mendel Schneerson, and the Rabbi Shomriya Gurarya. In 1950, after the death of the Reetz, it was not clear who would take his place and lead the movement. After Reb Menahem Mendel Schneerson refused for a year to take the role of Rebbe. After great pressures on the Rebbe, in 1951, one year after HaReetz’s death, the Rebbe heard a Chassidic lesson beginning with the verse “I came to my garden, my sister was a bride,” and he took upon himself the leadership. The letter was written before he took it upon himself (after the Reetz’s death), was sent in the name of the Rebbetzin and her sons-in-law. Written on official letterhead, Brooklyn 1950, sent to the Rav Aba Levin of Chabad, shana tova greetings, nice signature. Excellent condition, and important historical and very rare letter.
