Lot 437:
Letter, request for donation for the poor of the city of Faran. Written and signed, 20 lines. He lived 1810-1896, was one of the sages of his generation, known for his wisdom and great righteousness. Led the Jews of Lithuania and Russia over the years. Served in the rabbinate from a young age, 1837 approximately. In 1864 he was appointed to the Kovna Rabbinate. Excellent condition.
