Venice edition of the Shulchan Aruch, second edition printed during the compiler’s lifetime. Four sections: Orech Hayim (title page, page 2-61), Yoreh De’ah (title page, 2-57), Even HaEzer (title page, page 2-34), Khoshen Mishpat (title page, page 2-71). Halachot only. By Maran Rabbeinu Yosef Caro, the Beit Yosef. (Winograd 552). Before us is a complete copy of the edition, corrected by the compiler, a halachic composition which is famous and extremely foundational. Included is material regarding changes in the nussach of the compiler from first editions. The first pages of the Orech Hayim section and the last few of Khoshen Mishpat have restored defects with missing but not damage to the text. On some of the pages there is damage to the pages at varying levels, but only in the margins. Stains and wear. Size 35cm. On page 2 of the Orech Hayyim there is damage to a few words from wear. Signatures of ownership and a number of glosses in Yemenite handwriting. The sections are bound together with nice, pretty leather binding.
