The author Rabbi Rabbi Zvi Elimelech of Dinov (1783-1841) was a great Chassidic sage, known mostly by the nickname “Bnei Issachar” after his book series, which was very popular for generations among chassidim. He wrote a wide variety of other books on all aspects of Torah, including Agra d’Parka, Derech Pikudecha, Ma’ayan Ganim, and more.

Rabbi Baruch Bendit Liechtenstein of Kolomiya was the son of Rabbi Hillel of Kolomiya (the Maskil el Dadl, the 26th generation of rabbis from Poland), who was a chassid of Sanz, a wandering darshan considered extreme, and was a student of the Chatam Sofer. He succeeded his father as rabbi of Kolomiya. See Otzer Rabbanim 4193.
