Typewritten letter on official letterhead of Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, the 7th Chabad Rebbe, from 7th of Adar, 1963. Addressed to the businessman Shlomo Zalman Shragai, in which the Rebbe answers his letter regarding the Redemption and Messiah, and tells him to look at books of Chabad Chassidut. The Rebbe adds his displeasure that the Education Ministry’s instructions before Purim only mentioned Mishloach Manot, the Rebbe criticizes the failure to emphasize the mitzvah of Matanot LaEvyonim. Interesting letter with many handwritten corrections made by the Rebbe. At the end is his handwritten signature. Filing holes and a small tear with damage to text.

The Lubavitcher Rebbe – the Rebbe Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneersohn of Lubavitch – the seventh rebbe of Lubavitch (April 18, 1902 – June 12, 1994).

Shlomo Zalman Shragai (1900-1995) was a National-Religious ideologue and politician, head of Western Jerusalem from 1950-1952, a founder and leader of the Torah v’Avodah movement, HaPoel Mizrahi, and a leader of the “Medina ShebeDerech” institutions.
