From 1930, a letter handwritten, with: Mazal tov on the engagement of Rav Babad’s daughter to the son of Rabbi Eliyahu Frankel Teumim of Peshversk; after many complements to the rabbi he expounds many blessings for the rabbi and the new couple, and he ends with a signing off including his signature. Official stamp is somewhat erased at the top of the letter. 14x23cm. Stains and creases. The writing appears on one fold of a larger piece of paper. Generally good condition.

The author, Rabbi Yehoshua of Sanyatin, was the student of Rabbi Meir Arik and the Mechazeh Avraham, Rosh Engel, and the Even Yekara. He was Av Beit Din in 1936. 

The recipient of the letter Rabbi Menachem Mendel Babad, rabbi of Gora-Homoroloy (Bukovina). A descendent of Rabbi Yosef Babad, the Minchas Chinuch, appointed over Chassidei Chortkov, known as a great talmid chacham who was in regular correspondence with greats of his generation. Died in 1930.
